Is it easy to install myself or do I need a gas engineer?

Very easy as you just need to align it a safe distance above the flue, drill some holes and screw it in. So long as you can get your hands on a drill, and have a tape measure to hand so you can ensure it is the minimum safe distance above the flue, it should take you no more than a few minutes to install.
